Vanessa Newton AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Principal

Vanessa started Newton Architectural Design Studio in July 2022. 

She brings her diverse background ranging from high-rise and supertall buildings, to daycares and corporate office headquarters to the studio.

Vanessa graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Georgia Tech in 2001 and her Master of Architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in 2005.  Vanessa's professional career began in Chicago working with Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM) Chicago and then at Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill (AS+GG) Architecture. Her portfolio includes landmark projects such as Burj Khalifa (SOM Chicago) located in Dubai, the Federation of Korean Industries Tower (AS+GG) located in Seoul, South Korea, and Kingdom Tower (AS+GG) located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Working on the tallest buildings in the world is where Vanessa first developed an interest in scalable architecture that relates to the users relationship to buildings.  

Prior to founding NAS in 2022, Vanessa worked at Gresham Smith & Partners followed by Lendlease where she became the Design Operations Manager for the Nashville, TN office.
